Winemaking: Fermentation in 70 year old chestnut wood casks, grapes macerated for 5-6 days. Aged in oak and then stainless steel for 6 months. No fining, no filtration.

From the Importer Strade Bianche: In 1964 Luigi Brezza became the first winemaker in Italy to apply the principles of biodynamic agriculture. He would go on to influence and mentor many other winemakers including his son, Francesco. Today, Francesco cultivates 50 hectares, 13 of vineyards and the rest for hay and cereal grain. He also raises cattle on the property, using their manure to fertilize the crops creating a self-sufficient farming system.

Located on the first hills of Monferrato Casalese, near the town of Casale Monferrato, Tenuta Migliavacca was founded in 1921 by Enrico Brezza, Francesco's Great Grandfather. It wasn't until 1933 that Enrico's son, Andrea, decided to plant the first vineyards and build the first cellar. Luigi, Andrea's son, later increased the vineyard area to 35 hectares in the early 1960s. Tenuta Migliavacca is a true family operation where the upmost respect and care is paid to the land.
