From the Importer Jeffrey Alpert: A historic estate in the Loire, Domaine Guion was started by Stéphane’s father in the 1950s. Incredibly ahead of their time, the Guion family received organic certification as early back as 1965. Since taking over the estate from his father in 1994, Stéphane remained steadfast in the domaine’s commitment to organic farming, and Stéphane remains a vital teacher for younger vignerons who aim to farm as meticulously as the Guion family has done for years. 8 hectares in all, Stéphane’s parcels face south, giving his fruit the optimum exposure for the age-worthy Bourguiels that natural wine lovers have come to treasure from this domaine.
