Château de Bouillerot ‘Fruit d’Automne’ Bordeaux Rouge 2019
Location: France, Bordeaux
Winemaker: Thierry Bos
Grapes: 90% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc (30 year-old vines)
Soil: Clay, silt
Winemaking: The domaine has been certified organic (AB) since 2013. Grapes are carefully sorted, destemmed, and kept on the skins for 15 days. Grapes are fermented separately in stainless steel tanks. Temperature controlled. Elevage in both stainless steel and concrete for a minimum of twelve months. Light filtration at bottling.
From the Importer Jeffrey Alpert Selections: Situated on the hills overlooking the valley of the Garonne river, Château Bouillerot’s history stretches back all the way to 1874. Currently in the hands of Thierry Bos, the domaine has remained family owned for three generations. Originally a pharmacist by trade, Thierry chose to return to the vines of his childhood after the passing of his father and he took over this 8 hectare estate in 1989. While the Entre-deux-Mers region where Château Bouillerot is situated has historically been a high yielding area, Thierry remains committed to focusing on quality farming and a more hands-off approach in the cellar.
