Domaine des Buis ‘Chauffe Marcel’ Rosé 2022
Location: France, Sud-Ouest, Aveyron
Winemaker: Pauline Broqua
Grapes: Fer Servadou, Gamay, Jurançon Noir, Cabernet Franc, Négret de Banhars, Mouyssaguès, Négrette
Soil: Granitic sandy loam
Winemaking: Hand picked. Indigenous yeast fermentation. Direct press and aging in tank.
The oldest vines are 50 years old. Vines are untrimmed and partially from 3 hectares surrounding Pauline’s house, partially from a parcelle given to her by Nicolas Carmarans.
From the Importer Steven Graf Wine: Pauline Broqua worked as a sommelier in Toulouse before moving to the countryside and pursuing the labor of her land and viniculture. She participated in Domaine Yoyo’s production and studied under Nicolas Carmarans before settling onto domaine des Buis. In 2018 she purchased the land from a retiring winemaker who was working the vines and soils conventionally. Pauline has converted the domain using biodynamic methods, by working manually and by using the plow instead of chemicals.
