$41.00

Location: France, Languedoc

Winemaker: Pierre Halley and Samuel Durand

Grapes: Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault

Soil: Clay, Limestone

Winemaking: Organic farming. Hand harvest. Vinified with native yeasts, The oldest vines of the estate on very stony soil are aged in casks and demi-muids for 12 months then 6 months in concrete— Elegant, suave and airy

From the Producers: Located 20 km from Montpellier and close to Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert, the village of Argelliers is halfway between Le Pic Saint Loup and Larzac. Pierre took over the vines step by step from his uncle who was traditionally a cooperative member. In 2017 with Samuel, they decided to create the Clos Constantin winery. 15 hectares are divided into small plots in two localities, Font-Belette and Les Champs de Traversiers. The domain is in organic agriculture and biodynamic conversion. In the cellar the vinifications are meticulous; Whites in direct pressing or maceration; The reds are vatted in whole clusters or destemmed. Fermentations are carried out with native yeasts from the cellar and the grapes. Once completed, the aging on the lees will last between 6 and 24 months in vats (stainless steel, concrete, wood) depending on the vintages and the balance. Pierre and Samuel produce wines in AOC Languedoc and Terrasses du Larzac. The wines are airy, full of finesse and without artifice.
