Gérard Marula ‘C’est l’bon ch’min’ Blanc 2021
Location: France, Loire, Touraine
Winemaker: Gérard Marula
Grapes: Chenin Blanc
From us at M&L: After a career in the corporate sector, Gérard Marula trained under Jo Pithon before settling in Chinon in 2005 to make wine by following his holy trinity: ‘observation, reflection, action’. His first vintage was released in 2012. His vineyards make up eleven small plots spread across Thizay—just over three hectares, planted to variations of sand and clay. Nothing taken away; Gérard believes strongly in the benefits of rich biodiversity in the vines. Nothing added, besides a whisper of sulfur if necessary. Gérard is a quintessential artist-vigneron, eschewing certification of any kind in favor of making wines of individual character and personality, not to mention rustic, elegant beauty—all vinified as ‘Vin de France’.
