Winemaking: Their traditional  and careful approach to growing wines reinforces the grapes natural potential. All of their decisions are based on biological balance and all vinification is natural without additives. Method Traditionelle. Manual harvest followed by 24 hour maceration before light pressing for 1st fermentation with 3 months on lees. 2nd fermentation in bottles for 18 months. 1.5% residual sugar.

From the Producer: Situated in the heart of the Loire Valley, the Domaine de la Grézille benefits from temperate climate of the Anjou region. The combination of a privileged climate with the famous tuffeau-stone and shell marl subsoil gives our wines their unique terroir personality.

The traditional and careful way we grow our wines, reinforces this natural potential.
Our activity is based on the respect of the biological balance and our aim is to highlight the natural attributes given by the terroir.

The vinification is natural, without any additional fermenting agent.
Then two alternative processes follow in our cellars:
– elevage sur lie
– elevage sur lie in oak barrels for some cuvees

Thanks to this natural traditional method inherited from the past we can offer authentic wines which will age easily for your pleasure or for the pleasure of future generations.

Most of our wines are appellation d’origine contrôlée (AOC). Our main grapes are the cabernet for the red wines (AOC Anjou Rouge) and rosés (AOC Rosé de Loire and AOC Cabernet d’Anjou) and the grape Chenin for the white wines (AOC Anjou blanc, AOC Coteaux du Layon, AOC Saumur Brut).
